Guyson Corporation has introduced the new Gyro-Force rotary parts washing system. The tall and narrow washer is designed for work cell cleaning and drying requirements that demand a flexible solution.

The GyroForce machine has an indexing table with eight spindle-mounted fixtures that rotate components at adjustable speed during spray washing and blow-off drying. Multi-stage rotary processing promotes impingement of hot aqueous solution and drying air on all aspects of intricately machined components.
The rotary action and interchangeable fixturing of the Gyro-Force parts washer enable rapid and thorough washing and drying of complex components without special set-ups. Parts with hard-to-clean and hard-to-dry recesses and blind holes that might otherwise require a dedicated custom system may be efficiently degreased and dried with only minor adjustment of the process – usually done right from the control panel.
In the work cell, components are placed in quick-change fixtures that are mounted on sealed spindles around the perimeter of the indexing table of the Gyro-Force washer. The rotated components then pass through two spray washing chambers and two drying chambers before returning to the operator position. Reliable production rates of up to 180 pieces per hour can be achieved with the new parts washer.
The entire washing system can be mounted on easy-rolling casters for convenient relocation, when extra flexibility may occasionally be needed. Overall, the machine has a 37 inch x 89 inch footprint (940 mm x 2255 mm) to conserve floor space.
The drying capability of the Gyro-Force system is uniquely enhanced by high speed rotation of the component-holding spindles at the two drying stations. Centrifugal action very effectively expels moisture from holes and recesses of the parts, while turbo-blown air is directed at the surface by a high velocity air knife at the first station, and compressed air at regulated pressure is directed by fantail jets at the second station.
Any type of aqueous cleaning agent can be utilized in the Gyro-Force washer, since the tank and interior is fabricated in 304 stainless steel to resist corrosion. The solution is held at the specified processing temperature by thermostatically controlled electric immersion heaters. In addition to chip straining and dual stage in-line filtration, the manufacturer offers a number of optional features to maintain the effectiveness of the cleaning solution, including a coalescing oil separator, an automatic solution replenisher and a 7-day timer to start tank heating in advance of the work day.
