The 4 × 4 × 4-foot blast chamber is fitted with a powered adjustable-speed turntable from 12 to 36 inches in diameter. With a few exceptions, where selective blasting is confined to a target area that can be covered by a few blast guns locked in fixed position, most Model 9 automated blast machines have a nozzle motion system. A simple oscillator with adjustable stroke and speed or a linear actuator in the horizontal and/or vertical plane that is programmable enables coverage of more area with fewer guns and less air usage.
