Guyson Corporation USA completed the engineering, design and build of Two (2) Custom Robotic Wet Blasting Systems for a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
High Volume Surface Preparation for Automotive Components
The WBS/Guyson Model RB36x36 Robotic Wet Blast System is designed for descaling and surface preparation of high volume drive line components.
The RB36X36 system is fabricated in 12 gauge 304 stainless steel materials having a #4 polished finish. For part presentation to the wet blast process a Six-Axis Robot with R30iB Controller picks the component from an incoming conveyor, moves the component into the blast chamber through a specially designed robot portal that protects the robotic arm during the process. While the component is held in the robot’s gripper the component is rotated in front of the Guyson wet blast gun for cleaning and surface finishing of the internal surfaces.
This machine specifically remove heat treat scale from the internal areas of the CV joints. At the end of the wet blast cycle the component is rinsed with recirculated filtered solution and blown dry via compressed air before the robot moves the part out of the blast chamber and places it on a take away conveyor. The cycle time per part is 15 seconds.
The system has a 50 gallon baffled rinse solution tank interconnected with the blast enclosure for a closed loop system. The tank is fitted with a pneumatic diaphragm type rinse pump and a bag filter housing having a 25 micron filter bag.
The WBS/Guyson Model RB 36×36 Wet Blast System uses WBS designed and manufactured slurry pump which is lined with molded in urethane for years of trouble free life. The pump is mounted on the outside of the blast enclosure for ease of maintenance. The slurry pump is powered by motors ranging from 2hp to 20hp depending on the application and number of blast nozzles required for the application.
The WBS/Guyson pump is capable of pumping slurry in concentrations to 50% at flows to 200 GPM to meet the stringent automotive industry requirements.
WBS/Guyson has been a robot integrator since 2007, and we have achieved high level integrator status. Guyson has manufactured hundreds of robotically involved dry and wet blast systems. There are no third or fourth parties involved in sale of Guyson robotic systems all personnel are direct factory trained and authorized people.
Guyson is a fully integrated machine building company that has experience in Dry and Wet blasting systems. We have a fully functional blast laboratory that creates the recipes needed to hit the specifications to reach the clients needs. At that point, we engineer, design, build and integrate robots entirely with our in-house team. Our organization is capable of building repeatable standard machines, and also building specialized machines to achieve specific results for our clients.
