Monday, March 16th started out with the arrival of a flat bed truck, a 60-ton crane and a crew of hard hat riggers.
The foundation and anchors, as well as the power supply for the new 5/8-inch capacity shear were finished weeks ahead of the day the machine finally arrived at the Guyson factory. The much-anticipated upgrade of the powerful precision metal cutter was planned as part of the the company’s 2015 capital equipment investment plan, and a buyer was already found for the old shear, so the installation and start-up was just the final stage of a lengthy process.
