Many types of coatings can be quickly and thoroughly removed without metal removal or substrate damage, and without generating volumes of dust, by using abrasive media in a wet blast system. Painted components that have grease or oil on them are not a problem for the slurry blasting process. In many cases the wet blasted surface is left in improved condition for repainting. Manual and automated wet blast stripping systems are available.
