The Vaqua Wet Blast process utilizes a slurry consisting of tap water and abrasive particles. The slurry is pumped by our proprietary delivery pump to boron carbide nozzles. At the nozzles compressed air is introduced to dissipate the water portion of the slurry allowing the media particle to make controlled contact with the work surface.
The Vaqua process is used on carbide tooling of all types and configurations to remove surface contamination left by grinding, honing, and brushing operations as well as edge refinement prior to coating. For post coating a lower pressure process is used for smoothing of the coating.
Vaqua systems are available in designs to meet any production requirements from single spindle designs to robotically controlled systems.
